Missionaries Needed!!
Student Workers needed
Student Worker required. Peru has a high student population, and a large number of Universities and Institutes scattered across the country. The IFES related student movement (AGEUP - Asociación de Grupos Evangélicos de Universitarios del Perú) has been working for more than 40 years. In the last few years, the number of student groups has grown to 63. AGEUP needs more staff workers to help support these groups and train leaders. At present they have a staff of five nationals and two SIM missionaries. AGEUP considers itself a missionary arm of the Peruvian church as it teaches strong leadership skills and considers the campus a missionary field. Many of the students and trained leaders of AGEUP groups serve in their local churches, and many of today's church leaders in Peru were part of AGEUP during their university days. A strong evangelical witness in Peru's universities and trained leaders contribute to our goal of developing strong church leaders. This is at least a two year position. Pray that the right person will respond to God's calling in his/her life. Could it be you?
These are just some of the different ways in which this position contributes to the wellbeing of our missionaries and their visitors. We are looking for someone who can commit to at least 2 years to this position.
This is not a full time job, which means it could be ideal for an older couple, and will leave time for Spanish study or involvement in other ministries as gifts and energy allow. Responsibilities include taking bookings, organising airport transfers, welcoming people, preparing rooms, and helping visitors in practical ways, keeping simple accounts and monitoring expenditure, overseeing cleaning and maintenance, and even some babysitting is often appreciated. The Guest House is self-catering so there is no cooking required, and a local cleaner is employed for twice weekly cleaning and laundry.
Lima is a large city of about 8 million people on the coast of Peru. The temperature varies from 15°C in winter to 28°C in summer, with high humidity. There are shanty town areas round the city, but also Western style shopping malls, supermarkets, cheap and frequent public transport, and broadband internet! SIM Peru has about 45 missionaries working in four different locations. Half of the team live in Lima, and half live in provinces to the south, some quite remote. Our main ministries are in theological education, church planting and development, and children and youth work.

If you enjoy providing hospitality and serving others, this is the role for you! SIM Peru is looking for a couple or single person to manage the Guest House in Lima. All new missionaries arrive in Lima, and all missionaries departing for home assignment pass through Lima. You will have the opportunity to welcome and serve them during those first bewildering days in a new country, or the break between the hellos and goodbyes of home assignment or final departure. In addition many visitors pass through the Guest House who appreciate practical help with travel, tourism, or seeing SIM ministries.
