Angie lives next door to the church. She and her sister came to the
Holiday Bible Club every day. Daniella is our landlord's granddaughter and lives in the apartment
above us. She is in Gareth's class at school. As the children arrived they were registered and put into groups. Fresia helped out each day. She used to teach at the Colegio
International, a local Christian school.

Each day the children were awarded points for saying the memory
verse from the day before and for bringing new friends. Each day began with a time of singing all together. From there the children divided by age group. One began with the
Bible story taught by Sue Querfeld. Another group began with a craft session.

Each day they made different things to take home. Gareth had a great week! Dividing into groups made it more manageable. The third group began with games. We were in charge of running
these for all the groups during the week.

Two groups faced each other separated by the blanket. One child from
each group was chosen to represent their team. The winner was the
first to say the name of their opponent when we dropped the blanket.
Not as easy as it looks! We tried to think of new games for each day. The grass is a bit worn here as we use this area for our main Sunday
service. Coastguards and smugglers is a favourite.

Sometimes the children got very excited. We had a lot of fun with the oldest children. They were also the biggest
group with around 28 children each day. Straws and lego tyres from when Steve was a boy were used for this
relay race! Patti was in charge of the refreshments team.

Each games session ended with juice and biscuits all round. It was a good time to wind down and chat. Running around is thirsty work. The biscuits filled a corner until tea time.

Gareth clowning around! Francesca is Patti's daughter and helped all week. Can I have some more please? Some days we went out to the park opposite the church house. Working
with a small group of young children was the biggest challenge!

The last day we had some great games with the biggest group. Four teams battled it out for points towards the week's total. The boat race caught everyone by surprise! In one game, the children had to burst balloons in pairs by hugging
each other.

The balloons just didn't want to burst! Everyone had a great time though! Please pray that many of these children will come back to the weekly
children's club in March. Thanks to Bob Wantz whose photos taken during the week have
made this gallery possible! Each day the children were able to see
the previous day's pictures
