El Camino Baptisms May 2004

Sunday May 16th was a full house at Every available space was taken! Many folk didn't even get seats and had to stand in the doorway. So many people have never come to an event at the church before.
       
Five people publically proclaimed their faith in Christ and many friends
and family came to witness it. The house was literally bursting at the seams! Over 220 people packed in. We desperately need a new building! Vicente, one of the first people to be converted through the work of
       
Each of the five candidates shared their testimony. Craig Querfeld baptised them in the well used fibreglass pool. No
heating, so the water was chilly to say the least! Craig's father baptised him thirty or so years ago and now he had the
privilege of baptising his eldest son David. Bob Wantz presented each newly baptised believer with their
baptismal certificate.
       
Bob, Craig and Vicente joined the five for the group photo. At It is plenty of work and needs a lot of food, but we have never lacked
as members of the congregation have given generously. Patti is in charge of catering and does a great job.
       
The serving team preparing for the arrival of the hungry multitudes! People sit in groups wherever there is space. It is a happy time of celebration and fellowship. People stay on chatting until long after the end of the service.
       
Feasting is a biblical activity that There are so many to serve that the queue continues long after the
first to be served are seated and eating. The children have to find any available space, like up on the balcony
at the top of the spiral stairs. The whole day was one of witness and celebration enjoyed by all.
